Washington, DC - The Georgian Association in the United States, Inc is holding a protest rally in support of Georgia this Friday at 2pm at Lafayette Square in front of the White House, and at 4:30 PM outside the Russian Embassy (corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Edmunds Street).

The representatives of the ethnic Georgian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Moldovan and other ethnic communities and American Friends of Georgia will gather to bring attention to grave consequences of the Russian invasion on the Georgian nation, implications for US strategic interests in the region, and potential impact on other countries. The participants are going to advocate for accelerated Membership Action Plan for NATO for Georgia and Ukraine, and diplomatic and economic sanctions against Russia.

This is a decisive moment for Western policy toward Russia. The Georgian Association in the United States hopes that the global community clearly recognizes the danger to its stability that Russian actions present.

The Georgian Association is a nonpartisan nationwide membership organization of Georgian-Americans and friends of Georgia that advocates for Georgia and Georgian issues in the U.S. The organization was established in 1932 by the Georgian patriots who escaped Russian invasion and annexation of Georgia in 1921-1924.
